Specialized Intensive Care for Children
Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides specialized monitoring and critical care for infants and children who require close medical supervision. Our focus is on timely treatment, compassionate care and support for families during challenging medical situations.
What Is a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit?
A PICU is a specialized unit for critically ill babies and children who need close medical supervision, continuous monitoring and advanced treatment. Doctors and trained nurses watch heart rate, breathing and oxygen level around the clock, so any change in the child’s condition is noticed early.
Treatment is planned according to the child’s condition and the doctor’s assessment. Parents are kept informed about the diagnosis, treatment and progress.

How Intensive Care Works
Every child is different, but intensive care usually follows these steps.
Quick assessment
The team checks breathing, heart rate, oxygen saturation, temperature and level of alertness.
Stabilization
Urgent treatment such as oxygen, intravenous access and fluids is started as needed.
Monitoring
Vital signs are tracked continuously, with tests repeated according to the child's condition.
Treatment and review
Doctors review the child regularly and adjust treatment, and parents receive clear updates.
Recovery
When the child is stable, care continues in the ward until discharge planning begins.
When to Seek Emergency Help Immediately
Seek emergency medical help at once if your child has any of these. Do not delay treatment to confirm admission details.
Severe difficulty in breathing
Blue lips or skin
Repeated or prolonged seizures
Unresponsive or very hard to wake
Appears critically ill
